Reporting to the Senior Controller, the Assistant Controller will be responsible for managing a large financial team and overseeing day-to-day financial operations. Responsibilities
• Manage the daily financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
• Work closely with the Sr. Controller to monitor financial performance and report variances to management.
• Prepare monthly financial statements for internal and external stakeholders.
• Implement accounting procedures, internal controls, and best practices to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Generate reports adhering to legal, regulatory, and corporate standards.
• Support financial due diligence and integration efforts in mergers and acquisitions.
• Ensure compliance with accounting practices and assist in year-end financial reporting.
• Serve as a liaison between the finance department and external vendors or financial institutions.
Qualifications
Academic background in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration
Minimum of 5 years of Accounting/Finance experience.
Experience in project accounting methods, including Percentage of Completion (POC) and Estimate at Completion (EAC)
Minimum of 1 year of Accounting Team Management experience.
Canadian CPA accreditation
Exemplary technical acumen and analytical prowess, coupled with a keen eye for detail and precision.
Effective and strategic communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrable track record in orchestrating end-to-end financial operations.
Proven aptitude for multitasking with a proactive, hands-on approach.
Ability to manage a large team
