Description

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual who is solutions oriented and has good multi-tasking skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for Configuring and installing, monitors and maintains IT users’ desktop software and hardware. The successful candidate will provide consultation to IT users for all aspects of end-user computing and desktop-based LAN systems software. This individual will be responsible for developing and testing desktop and laptop images for all company clients.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Responsible for building Windows desktop/laptop images and interim releases.  Plan and execute deployments using industry best practices
• Provides technical support and guidance through Tier 2 support and works with vendors or other internal support teams to resolve Tier 3 issues
• Responsible for documenting solutions to problems and developing end-user guidelines.
• May provide on-site training to users
• Evaluates, maintains, modifies and documents desktop application packages, participates in the testing and evaluation of new desktop packages and implements prototypes
• Provides support for head office location as well as remote support for field staff and zone offices
• Responsible for tracking end user devices and keeping asset management system up-to-date
• Maintains awareness of industry trends and emerging technologies, proactively hi-lighting opportunities.
• Participate in the assessment, implementation, and evaluation of overall services provided by IS User Services, along with transition into the production environment.
• Provides backfill support for the Service Desk as required

What You Bring:

• 3 years of experience within a desktop support function
• Uses in-depth knowledge and understanding of Desktop and/or Server Operating System inner workings (File System, Registry, WMI, Services, Drivers, etc.) to improve the reliability and performance of the customer’s technology experience
• Ability to support a variety of technologies, business departments and systems, and independently resolve problems and proactively communicate solutions
• Must have strong Windows 7 background for trouble shooting and testing applications on images.
• Strong understanding of System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Packaging, MDT and WSUS
• Experience in building a standardized desktop image on various hardware platforms.
• Regression testing against image builds.
• Advanced documentation and asset tracking experience
• Working knowledge of Active Directory and group policies.
• Familiarity of VMWare, MDM solutions and OS365
• Superior written and verbal communication skills coupled with project management, analytical and problem-solving skills and excellent customer relationship skills.
