Description:
The Fund Control Analyst will be responsible for reconciling Transfer Agency and bank related items, Trust bank accounts, balanced and disbursed fee payments, performing control checks and maintaining banking records.

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and process requests to move cash settlements between Custody and Trust accounts, as well as between Trusts to Corporate accounts.
  • Reconcile and validate Capital Stock transactions and other activities such as Dividend payment. Follow up with banks and custodian to resolve any discrepancies and issues as necessary
  • Monitor cash flow to ensure adequate funds are available to meet daily operational requirements.
  • Review, reconcile and analyze trailer fee payments to dealers and investigate and coordinate with other department for any discrepancies that may incur.
  • Review dilution invoices and payments. Prepare reconciliations and set-up for dilution receivables
  • Daily weekly and monthly dilution reporting and analysis, incoming wires, deposits and CIBCM summary worksheets
  • Process Traces, re-calls, FX deals and any other related banking requests
  • Review and monitor the monthly bank service charges and interests incurred
  • Coordinate manual cheques issuance
  • Update Policy and Procedures as needed to ensure current processes are documented appropriately
  • Participate in the inter-departmental projects such as Fund Launch initiatives and validate test output before the projects are promoted into production
  • Cover other Control Analyst’s workload as assigned by the manager in time of illness and/or a vacant position
  • Provide necessary support other business units on collective initiatives, such as Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) audits and year-end fund audits
  • Other duties/projects as assigned by the manager

Must Have Technical Skills:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the financial services industry preferably in the Accounting, Treasury, or Control environment, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Math or Finance is preferred
  • Knowledge in Banking Standards is highly preferred
  • Ability to identify priorities and achieve objective within time constraints
  • Detailed-oriented and well-organized
  • Strong analytical and reconciliation skills
  • Ability to learn and apply new information and concepts
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Excel. Knowledge of MS SQL Server an asset
  • Approachable presence coupled with common sense attitude
  • IFIC or CSC course or are currently enrolled
  • Willing to work regular schedule of hours and varying hours like over time as business requires for it
