Description
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Security Data Analyst/Engineer to join a dynamic initiative, which focuses on improving security observability at scale across our infrastructure. This position requires a strong foundation in data engineering, security operations, and analytics, with the ability to build and scale insights using modern tools, like Splunk and Databricks. The successful candidate will play a key role in designing and developing scalable monitoring solutions within a security lakehouse environment. This is a remote position, offering great work-life balance and a competitive rate.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain scalable log telemetry monitoring solutions using Databricks, Splunk, and Cribl.
Design, implement, and optimize dashboards, queries, and data visualization tools to enhance security insights.
Analyze high-volume security log data to improve observability and identify actionable insights.
Create Python notebooks and workflows within the Databricks platform to support analytics automation and reporting.
Use SQL to manage, query, and update tables in the security data environment.
Document processes, technical configurations, and procedures to ensure knowledge transfer and operational continuity.
Requirements:
5+ years of professional experience in Python programming for data engineering and automation.
5+ years of hands-on experience with SQL for querying and data manipulation.
Strong experience with Splunk for log analysis and security observability.
Proven experience working as a data engineer in cloud-based environments, handling large-scale datasets.
Working knowledge of Databricks for building data pipelines, dashboards, and workflows.
Familiarity with Cribl or similar log streaming and routing platforms is an asset.
Background in security operations or cyber analytics, with the ability to translate telemetry into security insights.
Excellent written and oral communication skills and problem-solving skills.
