Position: Mainframe Operations Analyst
Position Type: Contract (6 months)

Responsibilities
Looking for a Z/OS technical resource that can assist in the conversion of data sets from the proprietary IAM format to native VSAM using standard tools and utilities.
An Operational Analyst will require operational knowledge of IBM Access Method Services (IDCAMS) for defining VSAM data sets and copying.
Performance monitoring and tuning post conversion will require understanding of VSAM data sets accessed in by COBOL batch and CICS programs.
Some programming in COBOL may be required.
Will require availability to work outside normal business hours on weekends.
Qualifications
Having an advanced knowledge and understanding of z/OS operating system and facilities.
Advanced knowledge and understanding of JCL, TSO/ISPF, JES2 commands.
Experience working with Utilities such as: DFSort, IDCAMS, DFDSS, SDSF, FDR, FTP.
Knowledge of CICS, DB2, VSAM, COBOL.
An understanding of Microsoft Office.
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or a related study — or equivalent project-related experience.
At least 5 years’ experience in IT.
5+ years’ experience. With IBM Mainframes.
