EXPONENTIAL 2026, Detroit— Day 2
Drones for Humanity… or Against Humanity?
One of the most fascinating takeaways from EXPONENTIAL was seeing how rapidly drone and autonomous technologies are evolving to support and protect human lives. From wildfire response, residential and commercial fire support, mountain and ocean rescue operations, to underwater inspections and emergency response — the applications are expanding faster than ever. In parallel, drones are transforming surveillance, infrastructure inspection, utilities, power plants, solar farms, agriculture, manufacturing facilities, and distribution centers.
During the event, I had the opportunity to meet with 30+ innovative organizations across Engineering, Aerospace, UAV/Drone, AI, and Advanced Mobility. Many are actively expanding their R&D, Engineering, Operations, and Sales teams to support the next phase of growth and commercialization. It is exciting to see this momentum and to know that at VTRAC, we can support many of these organizations in building high-performance teams for the future.
A pleasure connecting with industry leaders and professionals including Ezekiel Bierschank, Kevin Milleman and teams from Nw Blue, Hexagon Geosystems, hashtagMicrohardCorp, Osprey Group, Droneview BV, hashtagNoblteck and Starling Systems. Always valuable to exchange ideas on where autonomous technologies, AI, and drone applications are heading.
Beyond the technology itself, the biggest highlight of the trip was seeing how innovation can be used to improve safety, save lives, support research, enhance maintenance, reduce costs, and create smarter operations. Technology is ultimately a tool — and how humanity chooses to use it will define whether it moves society forward or in the opposite direction.
