FABTECH Canada 2026: Manufacturing’s Next Chapter
This week I had the opportunity to attend FABTECH Canada 2026 in Toronto, one of Canada’s largest gatherings of manufacturing, automation, fabrication, and industrial technology professionals. The event brought together manufacturers, technology providers, engineers, and business leaders focused on improving productivity, efficiency, and competitiveness.
What stood out most was the continued convergence of manufacturing and technology.
Across the show floor, discussions extended far beyond machinery and equipment. Topics such as automation, robotics, AI, data analytics, ERP modernization, digital transformation, and workforce development were at the center of many conversations.
Manufacturers are facing increasing pressure to improve operational efficiency while managing supply chain challenges, rising costs, and an evolving workforce. As a result, investments in technology are accelerating, but so is the demand for specialized talent capable of implementing and supporting these initiatives.
At VTRAC, we continue to see growing demand for:
• ERP & Business Systems Professionals
• Automation & Controls Engineers
• Robotics Specialists
• Data & AI Professionals
• Manufacturing Operations Leaders
• Technical Sales & Customer Success Teams
The future of manufacturing will not be defined solely by technology investments. It will be shaped by organizations that successfully combine innovation, operational excellence, and the right people.
Thank you to the organizers, exhibitors and attendees for creating another valuable event for Canada’s manufacturing community.
Question for manufacturers and industry leaders:
What do you see as the biggest opportunity for Canadian manufacturing over the next 3–5 years: Automation, AI, Workforce Development, Reshoring, or Supply Chain Innovation?
