Description

On behalf of our client, a drone-based logistics leader, we are seeking an experienced UAV System Integrations Engineer to join their fast-growing team in Vaughan, ON. In this role you will be responsible for integrating software & related technology to ensure the proper operation of all components of the UAV solution. This is an exciting opportunity for anyone who has hands-on experience with electronics, embedded systems, autopilots, or robotics.

Responsibilities

• Drive the development and integration of products and services of unmanned aircraft systems (UAS).
• Participate in the analysis, development, and design phases of the solution.
• Support the integration and deployment of all aspects of the solution.
• Ensure system validation and testing with predictive validation methodologies in concept, design, and product validation stages in a lab environment.
• Drive product quality through a process including producing, and preparing technical documentation, and management briefings/log reports.
• Provide technical systems expertise.
• Testing systems and debugging/resolving technical issues.
• Actively participate in Field Operations to evaluate technologies for their applicability for specific use cases
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in an engineering or related position
• University degree in aerospace, computer, electrical, mechanical or mechatronics engineering or computer science
• Experience integrating, configuring, and tuning autopilots, sensors, and/or other avionics systems.
• Working knowledge of programming languages such as Python, C++, and C#
• Able to identify, break down, and solve a variety of difficult technical tasks.
• Results oriented and able to complete tasks on deadline with minimal supervision.
• Disciplined, well-organized, and detailed in documentation.
• Strong organizational skills and able prioritize activities.
• Experience in circuit design, analysis, and/or manufacturing
• Working knowledge of communication protocols, signal processing, radio frequency (RF), and/or electromagnetic interference (EMI).
• Experience using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Experience in safety-critical system design and analysis techniques such as Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (FMEA)
• Knowledge & understanding of common UAV configurations such as multirotor and conventional helicopters.
• Ability to make good decisions using sound, professional judgment.
