Position:

The Solution Architect role is to analyze proposed and identified business requirements for new and

existing business systems and design and present efficient technical solutions. This individual will gain

business commitment for all business systems and software plans. The incumbent will be responsible to

evaluate and select technology solutions required to complete those plans. The Solution Architect

provides technical leadership across the organization, from strategic decision making down to the project

planning level.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead projects from a technical aspect by providing solution architecture, planning, architecture blueprints, of new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
  • Interact with decision makers, key business and technology stakeholders and end users to define, analyze, and deliver business requirements and systems goals that identify and resolve the needs of business.
  • Conduct research on emerging technologies in support of solution development efforts and recommend technologies that will increase cost effectiveness and systems flexibility.
  • Identify and develop operational plans across technologies and/or across systems ensuring compatibility & interoperability of in-house computing systems.
  • Review and analyze the effectiveness and efficiency of existing technology/systems and develop strategies for improving or further leveraging these systems.
  • Identify and research relevant technologies, perform proofs of concepts / prototypes, and recommend the applications of such technologies for future product architecture.
  • Provide architectural expertise, technical design, technical direction, and assistance to other Architects and mentor and coach Software Developers, DevOps engineers and system operations engineers.
  • Create and maintain conceptual, reference and target architecture, blueprints, adoption roadmap, principles, standards, patterns, tools and guidelines.
  • Document & maintain the existing business systems architecture and technology portfolio, ensure that chosen technology architecture is updated or replaced, as needed; understands and balances the complete lifecycle of technical choices
  • Responsible for defining & documenting end to end technology solution for technology projects including software and hardware solution decisions
  • Identify risk or issues with technology solution and design, perform cost-benefit and return on investment analysis, that may impact realization of project benefits, and guide and support stakeholders in making good decisions that proactively resolves or mitigates potential project risks/delays.
  • Develop, document, communicate, and enforce a policy for standardizing systems and software as necessary.
  • Stay abreast of industry technical and business trends through participation in professional associations, practice communities, and individual learning.

Must Have:

  • Hands-on experience with API GW/ infrastructure, authentication and authorization
  • Extensive experience in designing strategic solutions and architectural models for business systems, particularly in financial services industry
  • Experience addressing operational and non-functional concerns (e.g. horizontal & vertical scalability, performance, maintainability, load distribution, resilience, recovery, security and privacy).
  • Excellent knowledge of APIM Platforms (i.e. Azure APIM, Apigee, MuleSoft and Kong) and API design ecosystem: Swagger, Open API, RAML, YAML, Smart Doc etc.
  • Good knowledge of API & Microservices technologies & containers. (i.e. Spring Boot, Spring Cloud, gRPC, Kafka, GraphQL, Istio, Mesh, Envoy, Docker, Kubernetes etc.)
  • Good knowledge of PaaS platform (i.e. AKS, OpenShift, Anthos etc.) & container orchestration (i.e. Kubernetes, docker swarm)
  • Excellent knowledge in identity and access management solutions, SSO, OAuth, OpenID connect and API security
  • Have experience with server virtualization and containers technology such as Docker, VMWare, HyperV, Acropolis
  • Proven experience designing and implementing cloud-based applications, awareness of main public cloud offerings (Microsoft Azure, AWS or Google Cloud)
  • Experience with 12-Factor, Cloud Native Domain-Driven, CQRS, Event sourcing, messaging, streaming, sync/async, distributed systems, infrastructure patterns and architecture frameworks
  • Proven experience in an agile and DevOps environment including experience with DevOps build automation tools (i.e., maven, Jenkins, Git, ansible, terraform etc.)
  • In-depth technical knowledge of Unix/Linux based operating systems.
